From reading your posts it seems that there is a lot of divide on this issue and the question is open to debate. So what do you think? Is 2.1.3 better? Do you like the new districts and buildings over the tiles? Is it worth rolling back to 2.1.3 so you can play a full game?Įdit: Thank you all for your feedback. Apparently in 2.1.3 it is very possible to play a game to its completion in a reasonable amount of time. But it was still MUCH faster than any game I've ever played that far on in 2.5. I made it all the way to 2450 before the slowdown became noticeable and significant. And now to the most important aspect of 2.1.3 that I think asks the question "is 2.1.3 better?". Sectors in 2.5 are useless because the AI is horrible, there's always overcrowding and unemployment, but the sector AI in 2.1.3 does a great job of finishing off your planets when you need more core sector space. Tiles were easier to manage and planets were much easier to develop.
Everything the new planet system was supposed to "fix", was wrong. To my slight surprise, I played the best game of stellaris I have played in a very long time.
I recently went back to 2.1.3 because I missed the tiles, I just wanted to try them out again and indulge in a little nostalgia.
